Alex Tunui

Alex Tunui is a Writer based in Tāmaki Makaurau. Alex has a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and English. She’s been a member of ATC’s Young Writers Table and SPADA/NZWG’s Creative Collaboration in Action Writers and Producers Programme. She has written four theatre scripts funded by CNZ. Over the years, Alex has storylined and dialogue written for SPP’s TV Shows ‘Head High’ and ‘Shortland Street’. Her Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori episode was one of the first predominantly Te Reo scripts in Shortland Street history. She’s also a writer for NZ On Air development funded Series ‘Ding Dong the Witch Is Dead’. Alex has just spent two years working on Warner Bros. ‘A Minecraft Movie’ as the Directors’ Assistant to Jared Hess. She was heavily involved in the script and overall creative process and gleaned invaluable experience in large scale film comedy writing and directing.
